Located on the Hawaiian island of Oahu, Pearl harbor was a major American naval base. Early on the morning of December 7, 1941, the japanese airforce bombed Pearl Harbor. This event caused the United States to enter World War II. Four years later, in 1945, America dropped A-bombs over Hiroshima and Nagasaki and victory was declared over Japan.
