1990 New Zealand Commemorative 10 Dollars
For the first time the Reserve Bank of New Zealand has produced a banknote commemorating a historic event - New Zealand's 150 years of nationhood. The face of the 10 Dollar note has the same design as the standard 10 Dollar note with the addition of the 1990 Commission logo - the white heron which appears beside the Queen's Portrait.
The back of the note bears an outstanding design featuring the signing of the Treaty of Waitangi - a design that originally appeared on new Zealand's 10 shilling note. the 10 shilling note was first released into general circulation on Waitangi Day (February 6, 1940) to coincide with New Zealand's Centennial Celebrations.
