Shown here is a $1.00 Small Silver Certificate. The Small Silver Certificates were first issued in 1928 and were then issued in 1934, 1935, and the last one was issued in 1957. Silver Certificates could be traded for silver until 1968, then the U.S. Government reniged on their commitment.
